San Lazaro Record Sleeve

This the inking stage of a design Im working on for a 12" record sleeve. The illustration is for a local Latin/ Cuban/ Psychedelia band called 'San Lazaro'. This design is based around the lead singer of the band, Keko. Keko is known for his wicked grin and large, load personality. For the cover I wanted to draw Keko like some sort of mad, voodoo jungle pied piper, but instead of a flute he has a fish shaped Guiro and instead of rats hes luring all sorts of bizarre exotic birds.

Ta-daa.. I guess. The rest of my illustration for The Lifted Brow. The article this piece is for is called Inside My Butt. Her is a short snippet:

"I am not sure how far into the procedure we were, but I woke up facing a TV screen which was showing a live shot of the inside of my butt. Fascinated by what I was seeing, I immediately started asking questions. “Whereabouts is that? What part of my body are you in? Is THAT normal?” Then I suddenly became aware of the long camera inside me and it was very uncomfortable. I started to shout. “OKAY I CAN FEEL IT NOW. THIS IS PRETTY HORRIBLE. YOURE GONNA HAVE TO TAKE THAT OUT OF ME.”
